Using Online Help

Welcome to the IPP Online Help. Online help provides the information necessary for you to understand how to use the IPP application in the most effective way, including descriptions of the purpose of each page and how to perform specific tasks.

Organizational Structure

The online help is organized into three separate types of information: conceptual, reference, and procedural. The following table describes the types of information and where to find it.

To use online Help:

  1. Click the Help link at the top of each page. If you are on a page accessed by a first level tab, IPP displays the help text for the page. The help page contains links to associated application topics, and a left navigation frame, where you can access the Table of Contents or Search engine.

  2. Click the Search tab in the online help window (left-frame) to search on any text.

  3. Enter your keywords, and click Search. The search returns help topics that contain exact matches or variants for all of the keywords you entered. Use quotes around search terms to limit results.

Search Example

For example, if you enter "In-Process Report" surrounded by quotes, only topics with that exact term are returned. If you do not include the quotes all instances of the term In-process and the term report are returned.
