Delegating a Task

You can have a task reassigned to a different user to manage for a period of time when you will not be available. This is convenient when you will be away from the office for some time period. A task delegation is defined as a task that is routed to a new user from the original user for a designated period of time. The new user gets an e-mail notification of the reassignment.

Note: The new user must have e-mail notification of task delegation assigned in the Disburser Preferences.

To delegate a task:

  1. From the Tasks tab, click the Task Delegations sub-tab.

  2. Click New Delegation to open the New Task Delegation page.

  3. From Route To, click Find to open the Lookup User page.

  4. From the Lookup User page, fill in as much information as you need to find the user you want to delegate your tasks to and click Find.

  5. From the Select User section, select a user and click Select. IPP returns to the New Task Delegation page.

  6. From the Effective date field, select the date and time the delegation of the task becomes effective. The Effective date cannot be more than 1 month in the future.

  7. From the Expires date field, select the date and time the delegation expires. The Expires date must not be more than 12 months after the Effective date. Delegations cannot overlap.

  8. Click OK.
