IPP displays payment information upon receipt from Treasury payment systems or from non-Treasury disbursed agency payment systems. You must have the View - Payment permission assigned to one of your roles to view payments.
From the Payments tab, you can access the following sub-tabs:
Settled Payments
Canceled Offset Payments
Reduced Payments
Payments in Exception
Payment Reports
IPP permits the following payment types:
Wire transfer – Wire transfer payments post with IMAD (Input Message Accountability Data), which provides detailed information concerning the transfer of funds. Agencies must use Invoice Status Maintenance (see Status Maintenance starting on page 80) or an Invoice Status Upload to mark an invoice as paid, as IPP cannot automatically map a wire transfer to an invoice without addenda information.
Check – Bank check payments provided with a check serial number. Agencies must use Invoice Status Maintenance (see Status Maintenance starting on page 80) or an Invoice Status Upload to mark an invoice as paid, as IPP cannot automatically map a check to an invoice without addenda information.
ACH – A trace number accompanies Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments, which serve as a unique transaction identifier. ACH is a nationwide electronic funds transfer network that enables participating financial institutions to distribute electronic credit and debit entries to bank accounts and to settle such entries.
Note: IPP marks the invoice as paid, when a payment receipt is via wire transfer or ACH Trace #, and has an associated invoice number matched to an invoice in IPP.
Payments can have any of the following statuses:
Settled Full – The payment’s associated invoice is paid in full
Canceled Offset – Payments canceled and then the entire payment is offset (reduced) by the Treasury due to a debt owed to the U.S. government
Settled Reduced – Payments were reduced by the Treasury due to a debt owed to the U.S. government
Returned – IPP does not currently support returned payments
